About

Dr Tiago Gandra is a consultant psychiatrist with a psychodynamic orientation and specialist expertise in psychotherapy. He completed his training in General Adult Psychiatry at University College London (UCL) and in Medical Psychotherapy at the Tavistock Centre, where his focus was on psychodynamic and relational models of care. He previously held a consultant post at the Camden and Islington Personality Disorder Service in London and more recently at the Ashburn Clinic, a therapeutic community in Dunedin.

Dr Gandra is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Psychotherapy Coordinator for the psychiatry training programme at the University of Otago. Dr Gandra is an accredited member of the Faculty of Psychotherapy of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and currently serves as the current Aotearoa New Zealand representative within the faculty. He is registered with ACC to provide assessment and treatment under the Sensitive Claims Service.
